Meet The Owner

I’ve been in the construction business for over forty years, starting as a teenager framing houses and then moving into more trades such as concrete, tiling, interior trim, siding, roofing and drywall. I went into business as T.M. Construction, working on remodeling, custom cabinet making and window and door replacement for both residential and commercial applications, which eventually became the mainstay of my business. In the late 1980’s I took on my first of five new home construction projects, and managed all aspects of them, including electrical and plumbing, from start to finish. I was able to really expand my business and make a name for myself by by adding my own ideas and individual craftsmanship to each project. In 2005, I gained an interest in custom concrete countertops because of the artistic and creative aspect of the designs, and the durable, lifetime construction of the concrete that allowed for a new alternative to more traditional granite and other stones. I took many classes from the industries most trusted sources, and was completely hooked! Not only was custom concrete an option for countertops most people hadn’t considered yet, the artistic media of concrete allowed me to to truly express my ideas and designs. And it’s fun! With custom concrete for countertops, sinks and other design, the possibilities for me and my clients are virtually endless. Oh, and by the way, I love to cook and bake as a hobby, and take great pride in my food as a home chef. And that’s why they call me The Concrete Chef. ~ Terry Murphy
